Attending the Wellhead practice during lockdown 2.
We are currently offering the following services : Osteopathy, Podiatry / Chiropody, Ear syringing & Micro suction.
To help us, please read the information below in readiness for any future appointment:
Making an appointment
- I f you require an appointment, please telephone or e-mail us rather than coming into the practice in person.
- At times when the telephone is not staffed or engaged, please leave a message on the answer phone and we shall return your call as soon as possible.
- Prior to booking an appointment, we shall ask you some pre-screening questions and read out a risk statement.
N.B We will not see or treat patients who are unwell with symptoms of Covid-19 or who have had contact with a symptomatic individual in the 14 days before attending the practice.
Please do not come to the practice at all in this situation.
If you develop any symptoms after your booked appointment, please call us as soon as possible.
For reference the main symptoms include:
- High Temperature (this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back - you do not need to measure your temperature)
- A new, continuous cough (this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours -if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste (this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal)
Clinic procedures during Covid-19
Arriving for your appointment:
- Try to arrive clean with fresh clothes.
- Turn up at your appointment time – please do not arrive early. We are trying to reduce the number of people in the practice at any given time and will not have a waiting area.
- Arrive alone - Anyone accompanying you, will need to wait outside or in a car.
- Upon arrival, please sanitise your hands at the entrance unless visibly dirty, in which case please wash first with soap and water in the W.C
- Report to reception but avoid approaching the desk, observing social distancing.
Your treatment:
- Your practitioner will be washing their hands regularly and wearing the appropriate PPE to keep you and them safe. The amount they wear will depend on the nature of their work and level of vulnerability. It will include a face mask and an apron but perhaps gloves and eye protection too.
- Please bring your own mask or suitable face covering to wear during treatment. If you do not have one, we can supply you with one for a nominal charge (£1).
- Allow your practitioner to open and close the treatment door for you and try to avoid touching surfaces unnecessarily.
- Keep personal possessions you bring to a minimum (bags, coats etc) – a tray will be provided for your keys, phone, jewellery etc which shall be cleaned between appointments.
- For osteopathic appointments please bring a bath or beach towel with you to lay on (this will be more comfortable for you than the vinyl or the couch paper roll!)
Toilet:
- If you do need to use the toilet during your visit, please be aware that whilst the area will be cleaned regularly throughout the day, it does pose a contamination risk. We have left suitable sprays for you to sanitise surfaces to your satisfaction, but we ask that you wash your hands before and afterwards.
Payment and re-booking:
- Please settle your fees either in advance or after your appointment.
- We would prefer you not to use cash and to make payment either by one or multiple contact less card payments (limit is now £45) or you can enter your PIN number on the card machine.
Practitioners & Staff:
- Practitioners and staff will only be in the clinic if they are well and have not knowingly been in contact with anyone who has or had been suspected of having Covid-19 in the previous 14 days.
- We shall measure and record the temperature of each clinician and receptionist at the start of each working session.
Clinic Hygiene:
- Receptionists will be cleaning the practice throughout the day including door handles and contact surfaces.
- Appointments have been staggered and a gap introduced in between to allow for room and equipment disinfection, room airing and changing of PPE as required.
- We shall be using disposable paper hand towels, waterproof / wipe-able pillows, and plinth paper only.
- We shall be operating without a waiting area to meet social distancing guidelines.
We understand there will be a wide variation in the levels of concern that individuals have attending the practice. We hope that the measures above will at least alleviate some of that concern.
We would like to thank you all in advance for your patience and understanding during these challenging and changing times.
